    Assessing the condition/injury of the patient and disability affecting his functions;

    Encouraging the patient to be independent in daily activities including in his mobility, personal care and spiritual activities;

    Conducting educational programmes for the patient and his family as a preventive measure against complications and disability as well as optimal maintenance of the patient’s ability to function;

    Providing psychological support to motivate the patient;

    Conducting training in social skills to improve the patient’s ability to interact with the community;

    Encouraging patients to take part in leisure activities and appropriate sports;

    Designing and making orthotic devices / splints to support the patient’s ability to function;

    Designing and making pressure garments for treatment of scars / keloids, oedema, etc.;

    Submitting a report on the evaluation, treatment plan and progress of the patient to medical officers and other relevant parties;

    Operating a daily centre for patients experiencing physical and psychosocial problems including monitoring and maintenance of their ability to function;

    Managing a support group for patients to share their problems;

    Performing related tasks; and
  • 13
    Enhancing knowledge and coordinating work performance.
